⏱ 1 Hour 30 Min|1 Instructor per class | Capable of running concurrent classes
Synopsis:
This workshop uses beatboxing as a tool to explore the fundamentals of rhythm and percussion in an engaging, accessible way. Instead of focusing on sound creation, students learn core music theory concepts like note values, tempo, and rhythmic structure through vocal percussion. Using visual rhythm notation (e.g. crotchets, quavers), students connect theory to practice by creating and performing their own patterns. The session also highlights the cultural roots of percussion, showing how beatboxing bridges traditional and modern music-making.
